Report: Naftogaz Ukrainy asks to mull higher Russian LNG, fuel duty
KIEV, Jun 1 (PRIME) -- Head of Ukrainian oil and gas holding Naftogaz Ukrainy Andrei Kobolev asked Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Minister Igor Petrashko to consider raising import duties on Russian diesel fuel and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to 8.46%, newswire Unian reported May 29, citing a letter by Kobolev.
Three Ukrainian state-run companies, Ukrtatnafta, Ukrnafta and Ukrgazdobycha, asked the government to raise the duties on Russian diesel fuel and LNG to 8.46% in January 2020, saying that Russian suppliers were engaged in anti-competitive actions.
"Today, in spite of a significant change of conditions that influenced the issues strongly, no consultations or meetings on the request have been held with representatives of the relevant department of the ministry,” Kobolev said.
“We are asking you… to hold a consultative meeting urgently with the applicants with participation of the authorized representatives of the ministry and Naftogaz Ukrainy."
